Section 21-9N-5W Grady County

Should I sell mineral rights in Grady County?

That question is hard to answer. It depends upon what your needs are, if you have heirs, where your minerals are and what activity is happening nearby, if you are in a hurry, or if you are patient. Just because you get an offer does not mean you have to sell. You can sell all, sell part, sell none.

Roan Resources has quite a bit of activity planned for your section which is probably why you might be getting an offer. OCC case documents show additional well or wells there with 428,000 bbls of oil remaining in the MIssissippian reservoir.

Remember that you may have to pay capital gains on a sale. You pay taxes on any royalties you receive as well.
You can sell and invest the proceeds, or you can get royalties and invest those proceeds.

You should be in pay status for the Skaggs Farm well that is already drilled into 21. Room for quite a few more wells in the section, some of which are on the docket now.

If you have heirs, you may want to hang onto the minerals, as the area has not been drilled up yet.

Ultimately up to you.
