Sec 87-BLK 34

Have an oil & gas lease that will expire in Jan, 2016. It is in Sec 87-Block 34. They are trying to renew &/or extend the lease. Any info on this area or any interest from anyone else? Thanks DWR

What county/state/survey name is this located in?

Ward CO., Texas, Sec 87-Blk 34

Have you looked at your section on the TX RRC Map Viewer? Looks like quite a bit of activity near you. Open this link http://wwwgisp.rrc.state.tx.us/GISViewer2/

Click on the magnifying glass icon near the top of the page. Choose "survey" Choose "Ward" county. Enter your block and section and then click on "query". Your section will be highlighted in blue. Go to the top of the page again. Choose the light blue circle icon with the letter "i" in it. Choose "wells" then click on one of the existing horizontal wells and scroll down the newly opened white pop up page looking for "Production Data Query" and learn how much the well has produced. If the well is only permitted but not drilled, there will be no production, but you can look at the drilling permits, etc. Do you mind naming the current Lessee? Did an oil and gas attorney assist you with the current lease or did you just sign what the company sent you? What was the royalty? Use the above procedure to determine other operators in the vicinity and contact them?

Consider listening to this interview: http://www.capleroyalty.com/capleroyaltyinterview.mp3 I have no financial interest in Caple Royalty.

Thank you AJ. Jagged Peaks has the current lease and is attempting to renew. I work in the O&G business in Oklahoma but not familiar with Texas operations. I tried to access the site you provided and opened it but couldn't get my location in.

You are welcome, Donald. Maybe one has to open the map viewer through the RRC website. Click on this link http://www.rrc.state.tx.us/about-us/resource-center/research/gis-vi...

and then click on the map on the RRC page. This should launch the map viewer. In the top right corner of the map viewer there is a search bar. Manually [no cut and paste] enter this number 47535064

in the search bar and then click on the search button or depress the enter key on your keyboard. The map should zoom to a dry hole which was drilled in the southern part of section 87. You can use the zoom out (-) button to get the bigger picture of what's going on in your area. Then go to the top of the map viewer and click on the icon with the "i" in the middle of a blue circle. Use your cursor and click on wells around your section. A white pop up window with information about the well/location will appear. You can get production info and drilling permits with names of other companies to contact. Solid green dots are producing wells. Dots with slashes are plugged wells. Empty circles are permitted wells. Empty circles with slashes are dry holes.

All of these horizontal wells, some producing, are within ~2 miles of Sec 87 [ Jagged Peaks; Elevation Resources; Occidental Permian; Endeavor Energy ]

something similar to our 160 acres.--- if "token" drilling takes place before then, My understanding that new lease is not necessary for them to complete.
