We own minerals in Divide County and receive royalties on several wells from Samson Resources. We were just notified that they are filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy so I am curious how this will affect our royalties in ND and what actions, if any, we need to take to ensure we protect our interests. Has anyone had experience in this in ND?
I’ve been through a few of these over the years. I didn’t do anything, the working interests are valuable, and easily transferable so a buyer steps in takes over without a hitch. I’ve got royalties operated by Samson but not taking any action.
