Our family has an interest in a well that is not producing paying quantities of Oil/Gas or Condensate and it hasn’t for 2-3 years. Yet, the producer of the well has continued to truck large quantities of salt water from the well site regularly. We have been told informally that by doing this, it is enhancing the recovery rate of Oil and Gas produced from other wells in the immediate area. Our family does not have mineral interest in any of these other producing wells. We would like to see the well abandoned and equipment removed to enhance the value of our property or to perhaps allow another company to lease our mineral interest. Something just doesn’t feel right about what is happening here. Has anyone had experience with a similar situation, or can you comment as to whether this is a “normal” business practice? Any information or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am a bit reluctant to give an exact location at this time. Thank you for any comments or additional questions.
