I sold some mineral rights to my sister this past spring but we haven’t exchanged monies until finalization which XTO said would take 90 working days which passed several months.ago. Due to the Corona virus contacting owner relations has been impossible. We both just received letters stating it will be updated next settlement date. What does this mean? Has ownership been finalized? When is settlement date? Thanks if you can help me understand. The rights are in Pittsburgh Co. Oklahoma
“Settlement date” may mean the next payment date if there are royalties. Be sure and file the new deed in the Pittsburg Co courthouse so that it will be official. Contact XTO again for confirmation on the acknowledgement of the sale.
