Sabine Oil & Gas Corporation Bankruptcy

Does anyone have any information on what Counties/States Sabine Oil & Gas Corporation was working? I received notice from the Bankruptcy Court in New York City that my Grandmother's Estate is a party to the proceedings. I have been the Executor of my Grandmother's Estate for nearly 20 years and I do not recollect having any dealings with Sabine Oil & Gas Corporation nor have I found any records of them in my files.

Sabine took over Forest Oil's properties.

Thank you, Steve. Another clue to work with but unfortunately another unknown name. Do you know what area they were working?

Rodney - I also received the BK Notice for Sabine Oil & Gas and my mineral rights are in Harrison County, TX.

Thank you, Linda. I have interests in Harrison County, but they are not being worked by Sabine Oil & Gas.

Rodney, Sabine was formerly known as NFR. Nabors drilling pulled out of the partnership and that was the reason for the name change. All royalty checks still come from the same office in Houston, but they have Sabine instead of NFR on the checks. Kathy

First, let me say that is one big snake.

Thank you, Kathy. If you heard a loud click and a flash of light from the Northeast that is the light going on. NFR is a familiar name from the distant past. I just need to research my files looking for my dealings with them.

Rodney:

I don't know much about Sabine except that I just happened to own some Forest Oil stock. As Forest was getting hammered, Sabine bought them or took them over, so I wound up with some Sabine stock. Now Sabine has gone bankrupt. With that said, Sabine was working the area South of me here in the North Eastern part of the Eagleford where they had a big leasing effort at work. I have no idea how they were all tied in; but, some of their leasing wound up with some of the companies that are drilling in my area and the recipient of some and maybe most of those leases wound up with a company by the name of Oak Valley which originally started out as a company by the name of Southern Bay that at some point was either owned or part of a company by the name of Geo Resources that was somehow tied in with Nabors and then was bought by an Oil Man by the name of Floyd Wilson that called the company Halcon and before Floyd Started Halcon, he owned or a company by the name of Petrohawk. Now how NFR all ties in with Southern Bay , Oak Valley or Floyd Wilson, I have no idea; but, these are some names that Sabine might just as well be tied in with at some point or another. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you. This is one link to Floyd Wilson. Now whether he fits into any of the Sabine ownership or partnering, I have no idea; but, at some point they all brushed up against one another.

Good Luck

Hi Rodney, yes that is a big snake. It was killed up in the panhandle.

You are welcome about the NFR/Sabine information. Even in bankruptcy, surprisingly they have a land crew working trying to lease up allocation units in Harrison County. Best wishes, Kathy
