melissa Wood #2, Seminole County, OK. Is she still producing?

Yes, Melissa Wood #2 is still producing.

That is good news. In 2022, I talked with the owner of Diamond Production Co. Mike Matthews said that it wasn’t producing. Something seemed off with him. Today, I ran across my notes from our meeting and thought that I would get correct info from you folks. Is she producing much? And what is she producing, oil or gas? How do I go about recovering the money that I am owed from the production?

It’s oil only, no gas. Production has been running through at least early 2026, so Mike Matthews was either mistaken or referring to a temporary shut-in. Diamond Production Company LLC is still the operator of record with the OCC.

Volume is modest, the Melissa lease cluster in that area has been putting out roughly 75-150 barrels a month across the active wells.

If you haven’t been receiving checks, the most likely explanation is that the money is sitting in suspense. That happens when the operator can’t confirm ownership or can’t locate the owner. It doesn’t disappear, it accumulates, and Oklahoma requires interest on it. But getting it released takes some legwork on your end to establish that you’re the rightful owner and get yourself on the pay deck.

You can look up the well on the OCC website at occeweb.com - search by the lease name “Melissa Wood 2” in Seminole County to confirm current status.
