Royalty Owner Education Classes

Anyone with an interest in oil and gas minerals like we all are on this website needs to know about the excellent work the TCU Energy Institute is doing these days. Under Dr. Ken Morgan's leadership the TCU EI is on a mission to educate the general public ie consumers and students about all phases of energy exploration, production and generation and how various forms of energy compare. As TCU itself sits in the middle of the Barnett Shale field its no surprise that Dr. Morgan is a big proponent of using more of our own huge domestic gas reserves for our truck fleets and electrical generation instead of importing expensive foreign oil. Check their website out and dont pass up the opportunity to hear him speak. I have heard his presentation several times at the annual NARO-TX convention and more recently at the Eagle Ford Symposium in San Antonio and the audiances leave energized by his message.

For any of you other mineral owners who are tasked with managing your family's minerals and/or have younger family members who could use some formal education in this area, or maybe if you are a CPA or banker or other trusted professional advisor you should be aware ofThe TCU EI has been teaching a very popular landman certification course for several years and recently expanded their educational offerings to include courses designed for the royalty owner. Their first go round was well received and the feedback about the course content and instruction was reportedly very positive. George Wilson, a Dallas attorney and long time mineral manager himself is teaching the 3 class courses in Fort Worth and in San Antonio. The next class in San Antonio starts May 15. You can find more details about signing up and tuition at the TCU Energy Institute website. I plan to be there myself. Regards,

Ed

Ed,

I have read some wonderful articles in the Star-Telegram about the TCU EI. I hope I will be able to attend some of their local meetings here in Fort Worth in the near future. And possibly work on the certificates if time allows.
