Hi, if in fact my Grandmother signed this Royalty Lease before she passed, how can we end the lease as the address that it claims to have is not a real address? Any advice would be appreciated!
Contact an oil and gas attorney for legal advice. If no drilling occurred before the end of the lease, then it may have expired under its own terms.
Have an attorney look it over and see if you have a case. But as someone with experience in this scenario and even tried to take it to court, it’s hard to prove intent retroactively. Ultimately it’s going to come down to how hard the current “owner” of the “lease” is wanting to defend their position.
