My husband signed an oil lease agreement and maybe about a year later his brother passed, leaving him half of his brother’s property. My husband signed another lease agreement for that property. We just received our first royalty check and were wondering if this is for both properties or just the first lease.
If the 2 leases cover the same property, then it is highly likely that all of your husband’s interest is represented in your royalty check. You should contact the operator and ask them if all of the interest is covered.
