Does anyone know about the probability of the horizontal well that might be constructed? And the potential?
1/12 13N-23W has a permit for the Red Rooster 1/12 DM FEE COM 1H. Well was spud 6/27/25. I usually calculate a year from spud to money in the bank.
No current permit in 20/29 14N-22W, but there is a rig drilling 30/19 just to the west, so that is only a section away.
thank you so much for that info
Thank you for posting this reply! We had no idea a well was spud in Sec 1 where we have interest. No previous communication from Mewbourne at all. This forum is fantastic, and people like you who take the time to answer countless questions really benefit us all!
The well is listed as a DUC. Drilled UnCompleted . I just check the advanced search on fracfocus.org and well is not listed as fracked yet. That is a backdoor way to find out if it is completed a few months before being posted on the OCC. You can also watch the OK tax site to see when the well has been reported as “active”.
The Red Rooster well pad is actually in an adjacent section to the north of Sec. 1 & 12.
The surface location is often in an adjacent section. It takes about a 1/4-1/2 mile to make the turn, so they want to be able to shoot as many perforations as possible in the sections of interest starting just past the no-perf zones. There are no-perf zones along the section boundaries. That is to prevent drainage across the section boundaries.
