What’s everyone know about what’s going on in 4-17N-21W. We just got somebody sniffing around for a lease names Dward Justus, Petroleum Landman, Canadian River Ventures, LLC. It was a random call and then he emailed a lease that was definitely not in the owner’s favor. Is there new drilling getting ready to happen there? Should we expect more offers? We don’t lease for less than a 1/4 or 1/5 interest, regardless of the bonus, generally. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
You may get other offers. Redwood Energy has been leasing in section 2. Likely to be for horizontal wells into the Red Fork or Cherokee. Very early stages of leasing as nothing has been filed yet.
As you noted, initial drafts are not in the mineral owner’s favor so need significant changes.
