I am helping my mom learn more about some mineral rights she inherited in Burke County, ND. From the lease, I can see there is about 1400 acres in one township, but not contiguous. She would own it with her siblings and some cousins.
I work actively in agricultural banking and very familiar with land records and happy to do my own research prior to hiring someone.
There was an exploration lease signed in 2014 and it appears one well may be producing (we have had companies inquire about purchasing the right), but no one is receiving a royalty check.

It appears to be an okay area, but not actively doing a lot of drilling and exploration at the moment.

All of the sections you posted except for one (section 29) has an active producing well. Section 21 has a horizontal well owned by Continental Resources and has been producing since 2013.

Contact the Division Order department of Continental Resources. If she just inherited, there may be some probate issues to untangle. See if the ancestors’ name(s) is listed on unclaimed funds in the states where they lived. www.missingmoney.com. Be ready with who she (and the others) inherited from, death certificates, driver’s licenses for new owners,probate documents, etc. Several of these wells are still in production, so keep working on it. May take a certified letter, phone call and email and lots of patience to get the answers for Cont.

Thank you. I have reached out to Continental Resources on their website this winter and got the generic email but no one followed up. We have had a couple of Energy Investment Companies wanting to purchase the revenue stream, but no one is getting paid that we know of.
The exploration lease was signed in 2013 and the inheritance was a few year prior.
