I need some help from someone on the forum. I recently discovered and re-established some long lost family royalty interests in Oklahoma and I am now receiving royalties on two gas wells in the same section that are still producing. I now find that there are other producing wells located in the same section, township and range. Should I be checking with the operating companies for those other wells to see if I have ( lost ) royalty interests in these wells ? I am thinking that there may be pooling or unitizing actions that may affect my mineral interests in the section. I assume the best way to check this out is to contact the operating company(s). Any help or guidance here is appreciated.

I am not familiar with Oklahoma's spacing rules, but it would depend on the legal descriptions of your mineral interest and the location and size of each drilling unit. If your minerals lie within any of those units and they are producing, you should be receiving a royalty. You may also be able to find pooling orders or affidavits of production in the county records. Pooling orders will tell who the owners are in the pooled unit. I would definitely look into it and try to get information from the operator as well. Like I said I am not familiar with Oklahoma, but you should be able to find information on spacing on the Oklahoma Corporate Commission website. Maybe someone more familiar with Oklahoma has better information for you.
