I am looking for guidance on how best to research gas well operator transfers for Hughes and Pittsburgh Counties. My mother passed away in 2024 and owned mineral property inherited from her parents. The properties are all in the names of her beneficiaries now. During the process to work with the mineral leasing companies I learned one company suspended payments for many years. My mother was unaware or had forgotten about this producing well. The well operators had changed hands over the years and there was a typo for my mother’s name and my mother never provided a valid mailing address. What resources are available to research mineral leases and operators dating back 15 - 20+ years?
