This is an updated re post from several years ago. We are now researching selling the mineral rights but I was wondering if there was any current information about this area
We have 150 acres of mineral rights in Richland County at t24n r56e sec 6.
The last lease we had with Continental Oil expired more than 10 years ago. At that time a permit to drill had been approved and a double pad had been laid and then the permit was allowed to expire, our lease expired and that was it.
I am wondering if anyone has any current knowledge about activity in this area.
Thank you
Philip Rachford
Philip I was active in the Bakken play in the 2010 timeline - I moved from Mt. back to Texas in 2013 so I haven’t look at the recent data - but around Sidney/ Fairview Montana was the early Bakken (2000-2006) play area obviously Elm Coulee Field was the nugget and your minerals would certainly been in the play area but not the core - you are north and would be considered fringe area. Hope that was helpful.
Correction:
I would like to apologize to those who read and then replied to this text.
I misstated the location. The correct location is T27N , R54E, Sec 6. I can only blame holiday brain for not catching this before I posted. Thank you
There is some increased leasing in that township by Continental Resources and others in the last two years.
