I just received a letter from Gateway Permit Services wanting permission to survey on what looks like Love, Carter, and Cooke counties. Should I allow them to do this or not sign it? XTO is behind it and they sent an Exhibit A of a bunch of Sections, Townships, etc. but can’t figure the county lines, etc. Any suggestions?
I guess activity is heating up in Love County. I just got a lease offer from Continental that I posted on comments wall. I don’t see anything wrong with geo work really. It’s how they find oil. I always worry if the surface owners are being treated right.
Also, if you have time, could you list the sections they are looking in? If it’s too much don’t worry. I have minerals in Love and Carter. Thanks.
Specific area is Section 16-Township 5S-Range 1E in Carter County. They also want to survey the surrounding areas in Love and Cooke counties that would be close to that. They will not disclose results as “it involves millions.”
