I recently established ownership on some mineral rights in Ward County, TX. This was many years in getting settled. I am now receiving royalties. These rights are in my grandmother’s name and had not been transferred to me. Last year, I paid back taxes with numerous penalties in my grandmother’s name. This year’s Ward County does not show my ownership. Who is responsible for updating ownership at Ward Co Appraisal? R
The operator will file a list with list of mineral interests and ORRI owners with the county and the records should be updated. However, you might want to call and either get the name changed or at least obtain the Notice of Appraised Value which is still in your grandmother’s name. It will have an id number so that you can go on the Pritchard and Abbott website and download the work papers of the value and DOI. Then you can review and see if you think there should be corrections (such as DOI to match your checks). This is good information to save in your files,
I downloaded the Notice of Appraisal from Ward County with the owner ID but there was no Pritchard and Abbott password to allow me access to the data. In a similar instance in the past, I had contacted the county and they said to contact Pritchard and Abbott. I have a contact there from that time, so I will drop an email to her. Last time, she sent updated info to the county.
Thanks for your response

You need the original mailed Notice of Appraised Value to see the PANDAI password. It is not included on the public report as a privacy protection for mineral owners. You need to update your grandmother’s mailing address to your own address, for current and any past notices.
You need to Cure The Title from your grandmother to you. Once this is Legally Documented, then it needs to be recorded in Ward County. Once recorded then pay from Certified Copies of the instruments and make an appointment with the Chief Appraiser with the Appraisal Office.
Poster is in pay on the wells so he has already has title in the deed records. He is already in contact with the CAD and they referred him to P&A to get the title changed. P&A will not meet with him individually, but will likely ask him to email a copy of the recorded deed. If he had a surface interest, then he would need to email the deed to Ward CAD.
