Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

jw - Oddly, Shell recently obtained a permit to drill the SILVER DOLLAR 57-3-47 RVS #1H, a 13,500’ Phantom (Wolfcamp) horizontal test, issued 7-22-13. This well permit was in T&P BLK 57 T3, SEC 47, the section adjacent to you. For no reason stated, in a letter addressed to the RRC dated 8-26-13, Shell requested, “Please cancel Drilling Permit No… “ The Commission granted the request, “The Railroad Commission of Texas has CANCELLED your API # AND PERMIT to DRILL the above-referenced well, which was issued on Jul 22, 2013.”

Several EOG Resources Harrison Ranch wells recently completed in Reeves County that have received a lot of fanfare, are located about 5 miles SSE of you. Energen Resources is currently drilling 2 wells in PSL BLK 56 SEC 8, about 5 miles SSW of you.

Buzz,

You seem to be the go-to guy on here, so here we go…I got a call recently from the company who leased our minerals a little over two years ago (3 yr lease, 25% ORRI +bonus). They have not done anything with the lease to my knowledge, and he said they would probably not get to drilling anything on it until after the lease expires, hence the call, which was basically an inquiry about renewing the lease with them. We have 100% of 400 acres in Section 40 Block 59. Have you heard of any activity in this area, either leasing or drilling? Just looking for lease bonus information or well permits. Thanks in advance for your input.

berrytc – first, let’s make sure we have you located, that’s PSL BLK 59 SEC 40… ~11.3 miles NW of Toyah, right?

Buzz,

Sorry, typo for “Section” came out “Survey”. Corrected legal follows:

Legal Description: 100% interest in the S 3/4 of the S 3/4 of East 3/4 and NE/4 NE/4 of Section 40, Block 59, PSL about 30 miles west of Pecos, Texas, consisting of approximately 400 acres. We own the minerals and the surface.

Legal Description: 100% interest in the S 3/4 of the S 3/4 of East 3/4 and NE/4 NE/4 of Survey 40, Block 59, PSL about 30 miles west of Pecos, Texas, consisting of approximately 400 acres. We own the minerals and the surface.

berrytc – I have it… showing 26.8 miles almost due W of Pecos. Good that the current lessee had shown interest in extending your lease and nice that you have time to make a reasoned desision.

I’ll get back w/more shortly. Later – Buzz

PS - incidently, owners Royalty Interest is ‘RI’, i.e., not ‘ORRI’… that’s Overriding Royalty Interest.

We each received $4500. The royalties if any will be split 50/50 with the State JW

Buzz, I signed 02/12/12 for $4500. We own the land and the State owns the Minerals. We are splitting 50/50 if anything should ever happen! My brothers and sisters and extended family all got $4500. Each. Thank you Buzz for all your help!

jw - thanks for the feedback… making sure I have that straight, the total lease bonus was $4,500 per acre, split with the state. Then it’s just a coincidence that brothers/sister/extended family received $4,500 each? TIA – Later – Buzz

Jwallisca, how many acres do you guys have? What was the $ amount per acre? Thx.

I have a interest in the same land as J W. A-3035 & A-3036. I signed with Petrohawk 9-9-2011 for $2000 a acre split 50/50 with the state. My share is 16.875 acres. I also have family members who received the same.

Garland

Thanks Buzz, I’ll look forward to hearing more from you.

does anyone know if there is activity Block C-18, Section 5 ??

RRC response to my question, “Does the NEW PUBLIC GIS VIEWER…

… have the ‘Survey/Abstract Search’ function?”

Response: "Currently, the new RRC GIS Public Viewer does not have the ‘Survey/Abstract Search’ function capability.

Here is the current statement from our website: Survey & Pipeline searches will be added in future releases of the viewer.

The legacy GIS Viewer will remain until all search functionality has been added to the new viewer."

FWIW, the GLO Map Viewer…

Our original lease was with CSC Interests, INC (Chesapeake). For 5 years, August of 08.

I think they sold out to Clayton Williams,

Jess – it looks like Oxy USA has taken over the lease from EXL Petroleum in Section 22 (A-2448) to your north where Oxy received 2 vertical drilling permits in March 2013. Later – Buzz
