Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Yes, it includes the severance tax of about 4.37%. The biggest is the MISC charge at 33.4%. Attorney is following up with them on this one. FUEL and TRANSP make up about 8% of gross.

Paul – $1.39 x 42 = $58.38 per barrel, or about 65% or the price of crude @ $90 per bbl… a depressed value historically I’m told. Later – Buzz

It is the costs that operator adds on that significantly reduces the gross pay. In our case, close to $0.42 on the dollar.

Further clarification on costs. The total is about $0.46 per dollar and not the $0.42 stated earlier.

Off the current subject (again) I overheard at the Petr Club FW that Chaparral had just completed its no. 3 Lindsay in the Cherry Canyon (I think). A-581, blk 56 sec 11. Does any one have any info on its first production numbers?

Gonna take some getting used to! Later – Buzz

Wade, Buzz, thanks for your continuous sharing of good info with everyone.

Thanks Buzz for the heads up! This new viewer is fantastic with everything at the click of the mouse. No more running of reports, just click on the well and query runs automatically for you. Can’t get it to print but that could be operator error.

FOR INFORMATION: Today, Tue-7/16, a permit amendment was made on the HEAGNEY 4-48 #1H well (389-33174) 7 miles west of Pecos to change the operator name to BHP BILLITON PET(TXLA OP) CO (Operator No. 068596). Previously, the operator was Petrohawk Operating Company (Operator No. 660146). Later – Buzz

Just released by BHP with an interesting comment.

http://www.bhpbilliton.com/home/investors/reports/Documents/2013/13…

“BHP Billiton’s Onshore US drilling and development expenditure totalled US$4.8 billion in the 2013 financial year and reflected a higher working interest across several fields and an increase in drilling speed, which delivered more wells per rig and a higher rate of completion activity. Over 80 per cent of our onshore US expenditure was directed towards the Eagle Ford and Permian, as planned. An improvement in drilling productivity is expected to facilitate a reduction in our rig count in the 2014 financial year, while a lower level of capital expenditure for onshore US will be increasingly focused on our liquids rich acreage in the Eagle Ford.”

BHp is an Australian based company that bought out PetroHawk a couple of years ago. The name change appears to be happening finally.

Id assume that PetroHawk is no more and that everything will be done in BHP’s name. Makes sense, I guess.

Stephen – I suppose that may be the case… if so, we’ll should see a flurry of such operator amendments. Later – Buzz

Im a rookie at this, what does that mean about BHP? thanks

Look for maybe 3 rigs running in the Delaware – Loving, Reeves, Crockett, Culberson… Later --Buzz

Charmia – are you following EOG HARRISON RANCH discussions below? Your sections are just west of there. Also, Energen is currently drilling a well in SEC 8 adjacent to your north. Royalty = 25%; Bonus = $?? and climbing. Later – Buzz

Charmie, sounds like it is worth a lot more now potentially. Good luck.

Question about casinghead gas. When i look at the production data on wells, if it says it has say 10,000mcf how is that figured? I just checked todays price and it said 3.74 MMBtu. Thanks

We’re still waiting on the pipeline they said, we’re 1000 miles away and trying to learn as much as we can, as for myself im very new to the oil business, its been a learning curve, i dont know anybody that knows anything about west texas oil or oil period, ive had to rely on google the whole time, we got the div order and thats all so far.

Does the royalty statement tell you the heating value of the gas? How much of a secret are the production numbers? If you’re a royalty owner 1000 miles away, do you pretty much have to wait til you get a royalty check?

Thank you very much, ive learned a lot from you and your links and every body else on this site.

George – correction… make that:

  1. 1.2 MMBtu per Mcf x $3.74 per MMBtu = $4.488 per Mcf, not $4.888.

Sorry 'bout that! Later – Buzz
