Reeves County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

The joke making the rounds is that Clayton W. should just lay back and enjoy his big sale.

I will leave to others to interpret this.

Anyone receiving lease bonus offers around or near Blk 4, Sec 82, H&GN, Reeves County, Texas?

And to top it all off, ExxonMobil announced a $6.6 billion acquisition in the Permian Basin from the Bass Brothers.

www.rigzone.com/news/oil_gas/a/148144/ExxonMobils_66B_Acquisition_V…

I believe most of this lies to the north in New Mexico (although still in the Delaware Basin).

Cami. It is not real recent but in April 2016 we received a lease bonus of $3,500 per nma in Sect 76 of Block 4, with a good lease (3 yr, 25%, no deducts, etc.)

According to GLO preliminary results for last week’s sealed bid sale, 28 tracts in Reeves Co totaling 5,379 acres received high bids ranging from $501 / acres to $30,123 / acre. Continental Land Resources was high bidder on two tracts of 495 and 160 acres, paying just over $30,000 / acre.

Thanks, Bobby. Here are links to the list of tracts and to a pdf of the results.

Ah. Well, afaik, you can’t directly locate it on the EnergyNet site now that the auction is over. I did a Google search using some semi-involved tricks to find it.

I should add - semi-involved tricks for an oldster like me. The kids may do it easy-peasy, for all I know.

Liz – regardless… you do good work! Thanks – Later – Buzz

Buzz, I’m not sure what you mean. The link below takes you to a page with the tracts listed. (Scroll down for those.)

At the top of the page is a broad map of Texas with all of the tracts roughly located. Clicking on the “View on Map” (blue) link to the left side of any of the tract listings will zoom the map to that specific tract. The map can be zoomed in and out by means of the + or - buttons on the map.

Clicking on the “Tract Info” (orange) button to the left of each tract listing will take you to more specific tract info.

If this is not what you mean, I apologize for my confusion!

Liz M – sorry for inadequate description of what I need… first, your hot links ‘work’ and I am able to navigate as you describe.

However, ‘on my own’, I cannot locate the EnergyNet ‘tracts’ site (even though I can locate the ‘results’ site). Sorry for the hassle. Later – Buzz

Liz M – I’m fairly familiar with the EnergyNet site but I can’t locate the ‘tracts’ offered site you linked below:

https://www.energynet.com/govt_listing.pl?sg=2611

Please provide ‘guidance’… TIA – Later – Buzz

Thanks Liz - I too have had trouble navigating the Energy.net site, and appreciate the two links. - I’m new to this site. I’m an old school landman with technology issues!

Stephen – look for these two hot links in Liz M.'s post 7 or 8 down.

TYPO… distance from Toyah corrected, MGL #25 - SEC 6 BLK 59 PSL (16.8 miles NW of Toyah)

Anyone know where the Eagle Claw Toyah ii Gas Processing Plant will be located?

Tom – you are reading correctly. For whatever reason, that particular bid appears to be an anomaly. EnergyNet posted ‘preliminary’ results, so I looked for that particular bid to be verified when the GLO posted results, which they did a few days after the bidding closed Jan 17th. However, I am not familiar if/when all high bids are accepted and awards made by the School Land Board.

The name of the highest bidder is a bit of a mystery too – ‘caw3478’. Also, notice the second (and third) highest bid on the 689.6 acre MGL #35 tract was received from ‘Apache Corporation’, and even it was listed twice with identical bids of $1,039,227.20 ($1,507 per acre). The minimum bid specified was $1,500 per acre. Later – Buzz

I agee with Brad on location being the deciding factor but if your operator is the buyer then your location must be a priority for them. It probably won’t be easy but I’d try to find out what your operator, or others similar to them, have paid for fee ownership out there. You should be able to find the sales through the deed records (Texasfile.com) but determining the price paid on those cash deals, that isn’t public information, will probably take contacting the sellers…who may or may not be willing to discuss it. I know Arris bought about 200 acres in Abstract 82 that’s just off I-20 about 5 miles west of Pecos but don’t know what they paid. I think they also got some mineral interest in addition to surface which obviously makes a difference. Also might keep in mind the value of water rights that would go with surface you consider selling.

Kenneth – you are correct… tract #24 went for $8,000/acre (540 ac) and #25 for $4,751/acre (640 acres); both tracts attracted more than one bidder (#24 - 3 & #25 - 2):

MGL #24 - SEC 1 BLK 59 PSL (14 miles NNW of Toyah)

MGL #25 - SEC 6 BLK 59 PSL (18.8 miles NW of Toyah)
