Just got a collection letter from LINEBARGER… for Notice of Delinquent Taxes on properties I was never billed for. I have now followed up with Reeves CAD and they are telling me I owe back taxes for 2024 and 2025 for three wells. I am researching my records, and I am discovering that the wells were shown on CAGI for those years so I guess the taxes are due, BUT I have never been billed before and they are charging Penalty & Interest. I will pay it all, but I am discovering a glitch–the accounts in question show up in a search in reeves.taxpayments.net but do not show up in “My Accounts” so they didn’t get billed. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this.
Reeves had issues with billings at this time. Ask for an abatement of the interest and penalties because the bills were never sent and to only owe the taxes. Search at least annually on the Reeves CAD site for all unpaid taxes under your last name (or predecessor name), including inactive wells.
