Can someone tell me how to reassign mineral rights to a member of the family to get ownership out of your name. There are no leases on any of the property.
Hi Sandra, you will need to sign some type of deed in which you are the grantor and the family member is the grantee. The deed will also need to include a legal description of the property and an effective date. You will need to sign the deed in front of a notary public and have them notarize the document. Once you have done this you can take (or mail) the deed to the courthouse in which the property is in and file it of record for a small fee.
