Re negotiate a lease?

I have 3 properties with 4 leases. Since inherited years ago I have no idea when they expire or what the lease agreement is. How can I find info on this? thanks mark

It would help if you give a section, township and range or abstract location along with the state and county. Each state is different as to how to find them.

If they are producing, you contact the operator that is sending you the checks. Once a lease is productive, it goes into its secondary term and remains active as long as production continues under the terms of the lease.

Thank you. The properties are all in Pecos County Texas. Blck 114 Trct 1 Abst # 6041 A RIGGS Sec 2 Acrs 40 NE/4 SW/4, block 114 section 2

I guess the easiest would be to contact the operator?

I noticed other saying that lease usually have a finite time.

If they are paying you, then contact the operator for a copy of the lease. If they are not paying you, then the lease will expire after its term-usually three years, but could be shorter or longer.

ok thanks for the info
