Quit Claim Deed, What next?

My siblings and I have received a Quit Claim Deed registered at the courthouse passed to us from our dad’s mineral rights. What is the next step? Will we each receive a Deed of Ownership? Will Maverick begin sending us checks or do I need to contact them? What is Energylink and Enverus and how does it associate with Maverick? Thank you for guidance!

We now own Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, lying in Section 30, Township 10 North, Range 24 West I.M., Beckham County, Oklahoma.

Unlike automobile titles, the county does not issue anything additional to the deed you received. That is your claim to ownership.

You will need to contact them with a copy of the deed along with an IRS form W9. Many companies often use Energylink to manage their owners. Here is a google search result: Ownerrelations@mavresources.com or (713) 437-8000

  • Maverick Natural Resources is now managing all owner relations and division order inquiries. Please direct all inquiries to ownerrelations@mavresources.com or (713) 437-8000. For additional owner relation information please visit Maverick Owner Relations.

Thank you, Richard. I will keep the Quit Claim Deed in a safe place and begin communication with Maverick and pass this on to siblings.

If the deed has been recorded, Beckham County will have a copy of it in the event you lose yours. Results for “Name: mcbryde, Section: 30” in Beckham | OKCountyRecords.com | County Clerk Public Land Records for Oklahoma Be sure to incorporate this into your estate plan.

I do appreciate all the help here. How do I know when last leases were signed and if we are up to date on all leases?

Check the okcountyrecords site to find the book and page. It is free to look.

Thank you for your help. I was able to find the documents there and I do have copies in records passed down to me.
