I am brand new to this group and to the forum, and I have a question. My family owns a fraction of the mineral rights to a section of land in Gaines County. These rights have been under lease from time to time, but not in recent years. Is there anything I can and should be doing to awaken some interest in the rights? Are there companies active in the area that I should get in touch with? Or should I just assume that anyone interested will manage to get in touch with me? Thanks in advance for any info.
Hello Ian,
I assure you when the oil/gas companies get ready to lease your minerals acreage they will find you. If you can give me the Abstract #, Section and Block # we can see if there is any activity or wells in the area of your minerals.

Hello Clint,
Thanks for your reply. The information I have about the lease is that it concerns Section 27, Block C-35, PSL Survey. Any action out that way?

Ian,
The last activity I see in the area was in 2008. 2 wells(API 501-35483 and 35484 were drilled in Section 28/C35/A-1776 next door to the North in Yoakum County.
Link to approved permit for well # 35483:
I am sure that there is production in your Gaines County Section 27/Blk. C35. Oil and gas production doesn't just stop at section lines. There is definitely production in the area. Numerous oil wells and plugged oil wells to the west and north of your Section 27. I tried pulling up completion reports on these 2 wells but none available.
