I have been receiving offers for some leases in Harrison Ct., Texas, in the Henry Harper survey. I’m wondering what’s happening there. I have never sold my rights but these are getting to be big numbers.
It is important to get informed about what is going on in your area. Folks don’t make offers unless they intend to make a profit. (whether they get one is another thing altogether). Many offers are low, so suggest you post in your county in Texas and learn from the folks there how to look up your area on the TX RR commission website, learn about new wells that are about to be drilled, consult your accountant as to what your royalties might be versus your capital gains tax if you sold, etc.
