Proving Mineral Rights ownership - OK

I inherited mineral rights in McIntosh Co, OK. My Grandmother’s aunt left them to her, and they passed to my Father. He deeded a section to me in 2005. He is deceased. I leased the section in 2007 to Williams Production & Mahalo Energy - Mahalo went bankrupt. I was recently contacted to lease the rights by several companies. I agreed to lease to one company. They said that their title attorney could not prove that I owned the rights. Seems strange that Williams/Mahalo Energy agreed in 2007 that I was the heir, yet the current company considers it a ‘stray deed’.

Q: What do I need to prove up ownership in OK? I have death certificates of the predecessors and am attempting to get any will or trust discussing the mineral deed. Thank you.

Ask for the title requirements or defect they believe exists. Otherwise you and your attorney will spend unnecessary time guessing what they are wanting. It could be as simple as an unprobated estate. These are usually fairly simple to correct.
