I received a letter that my production in some wells in West Texas is being commingled and production allocation will be based on the well test. The letter indicates that surface commingling is a viable means of extending the economic life of oil and gas producing properties.
Question: What is the impact to me as a mineral rights owner?
None is the effect, other than they most likely will do a shut in on the wells for about 30 to 60 days while they make the change. Commingling allows them a central point to collect and distribute to a Line or Truck for less costs. They should put single point meters on each well so they know what each is doing. MK
