Production in Pecos County

Can anyone tell me why my production on wells in section 19.5 block 8 ( Whiskey river) is so low? We are leased by Pioneer Natural Resources, and although oil prices are up, the production has been way down.

You might visit the Texas Railroad Comm. site and look at the production data.

Production is off quite a bit month to month (i.e September is latest month on record). There was a well test done in July (can’t really trust those a ton since they are just required) so maybe they are doing some work on the wells. Usually wells dont drop off that much unless they are shut in for for some time or they are doing work on the wells. If there are offset wells being completed they may have had to dial them back to avoid a frac hit.

There are many reasons why production may be down, such as that the well needs repair, or that the well is simply getting older. Contact the operator and they should be able to tell you.

I have contacted Pioneer Resources, but they haven’t responded.
