I am very new to everything dealing with mineral rights. I am possibly the owner of 1/10 interst in 160 mineral acres in Mc Kenzie county and there are three well drilling horizontally into my two sections. Do you think this is worth pursuing and getting my name on the title? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I realize there are probably many factors involved but I just dont' know what they are.
Yes it is very much worth your time. What state are you talking about?
North Dakota

Paul, it's very worth your time. I just rceive an offer to sell my net acres in McKenzie county for $10,000 but I'm not selling because it's worth more than that.

Paul, do you have a legal description, township ,range and section? Have any idea of the production? Are you unleased?

Township 149 N. Range 100 W. Sections 3 and 4.
Right now I am checking to what I have to do to get these mineral interests into my name. Probably going to have to go through probate. I just know that Triangle USA and Hess are the two companies that are drilling and both are producing.

Paul, it looks like you have 4 wells on the map.
Hess has drilled the BW-STOVELAND in the 149-100, 10-3 spacing. 68,978 bbl oil in 10 months.
Triangle has drilled 4 wells in the 149-100, 9-4 spacing, one of which they called dry, but there is mention of reentering this well in the future in the well logs.
Larson 149-100 4-9 1H 79,676 BBL OIL FROM 5-2012
"......................." 9-4 2TFH 37,461 BBL OIL FROM 10-2012
"......................" 9-4 3H 55,534 BBL OIL FROM 10-2012
Not the absolute best, but not bad at all. I actually thik they will reopen the one well they called dry as soon as they figure how best to make money off it. I hope this gives you some better idea of what is going on.
Thank you So much for looking into this for me. This is very helpful. If I am able to get these mineral interests into my name do you think that it would be worth leasing at my 1/10th of 160 net mineral acres? Or do think I should consider selling the mineral interests. I know that most of the people in this forum feel very strongly about not selling mineral rights. How do you feel about this?
Thanks again for the work that you have done. Greatly appreciated
