Received an “order dismissing cause”, says for Relief Sought: Pooling. States that the application is dismissed without prejudice. Applicant: Continental Resources. This is in regards to 14-01N-06W. What does this mean to me. Yes, I have lease with bearcat through October of this year.
This can mean that either, Continental has reached an agreement with all parties who have a working interest (what you leased) and no longer needs to pool any interest in order to drill a well, or it means that Continental decided that it did not want to drill this well, at this time. Pooling orders have an expiration date, and if Continental decided that it would not drill the well in that timeframe, then it might have asked for a dismissal. What this means to you is that the well might not be drilled, therefore, you might not receive royalty payment due to lack of production. However, you may be able to look forward to a lease renewal or new lease bonus payment if you lease lapses due to lack of production. You can search the Oklahoma Corporation Commission website to see what is going on in your section.
