The wording is dependent upon the state and what is normal for that state. It usually gives the mineral owner the advantage of having their mineral acreage included into a larger drilling unit. If you give your state, then a more specific answer can be given.
Pooling in West Virginia?
West Virginia has a version of it recently clarified. Look up the oil and gas statutes to read it. One of the lawyers on here can probably point right to it.
