Question on Forced Pooling in Oklahoma: Once force pooled, if a well produces, do all formations listed in the pooling get held by the operator or only those that are produced? In other words, does a pooling release formations ABOVE & BELOW that do not produce within the time frame of the pooling?
Answered my own question.
When force pooled, all formations listed in the pooling are considered a unit and are held by production from any of the pooled formations. Operator has an implied responsibility to prudently develop the other formations but "releasing" any of the non-producing formations requires an order from the OCC vacating that part of the original order.
