Poker Lake Unit, ORRI, 16 NRA, T24s, R30e Section 35, Eddy County, NM

I received an unsolicited offer of $25,000 per NRA (total $400,000). I have no idea of value, which depends on drilling activity, permits, etc. The NM GIS shows no activity, but I don’t see any permitting data. They know something that I do not! If anyone knows anything about this area, a heads-up will be much appreciated. I have found the following:

Current Development Status

XTO has permitted and drilled numerous horizontal wells throughout Poker Lake Unit

Recent applications (February 2025) show XTO seeking spacing units in T24S-R30E for new Bone Spring horizontal wells

Development is proceeding systematically across the unit, with XTO historically running 4+ rigs within Poker Lake
SE/4 of Sec. 35 has no current wells but is surrounded by active development.

I am soliciting other bids.

The horizontal wells in this area may not have permits with a surface location on your acres, so you have to look farther away. Look for the permits for 35 to the north in section 22. They are for 2.5 section wells. Exxon had quite a few permits that go into the northern half of 35. Looks like many of them were completed late in 2025 or are still being worked on. Depending upon your ORRI and what lease it went with you may or may not have the those wells coming to you.

There is room to drill the south half of 35 and go into 25S 30E, so more potential.

Great advice. Many thanks, I will let you know what I find. Thanks again, and I will take a peek at your business profile if we need help. Walker

The NM map is not helpful as it only posts the surface locations and not the well paths. I can see the wells on another subscription. There is a whole set of Poker Lake wells that start in 22 and go south into 35.
