My family received a similar letter from Petroedge recently. We got it through a different landman though. I'm contacting an attorney today to get advice.

I'd like to know if there is active drilling in Tyler or are they just looking to get leases.

Also, my family are only part owners of the mineral rights that we were contacted about. Is there a website where I could find the other owners? I'd like to know if they were contacted by Petroedge as well.

I believe there is active drilling in Tyler Co, I know PetroEdge and Jay Bee Productions are in a race to see who can sign the most leases. On the MarcellusShale.com, I believe on one of the tabs there is a place to find the county you are interested in. The more info you have the better, my royalty comes from Thorton F. Twyman, Ellsworth Dist. JayBee has filed a petition with the court to Quiet Title my family's interest and several others, even though we own and have paid the taxes on this tract for 100 yrs. If you need an attorney in Tyler Co., I believe Dean Rohrig in Middlebourne would be a good choice. I have a call in to him right now. I am in Oklahoma so everything is by ph or email, etc. Good Luck, Bertie L Stringfellow

I got a call from the landman again for an adjacent property we also have rights to. He said they were sending out a more aggressive offer to us for a lease agreement. He also mentioned they were in some stage of drilling. I think the words he used were "trying to get equipment out there to drill." I think part of why he told me was to make his lease offer seem more enticing if royalties were all but guaranteed. I just did a search and did find a permit issued to PetroEdge in that area. In case anyone was wondering, this is in the Ellsworth district in Tyler County. From the website http://tagis.dep.wv.gov/oog/index.html I see many permits for Stone Energy and a few for PetroEdge in Tyler County. Any other information anyone would like to share would be appreciated.
