The Ripley 1H-31 well was the 1st Mississippian horizontal well in that area that generated interest in the Mississippian formation. Highmount bought it from another company as they began leasing in the area. They leased a whole lot of the ranges around it. The name of the well on this permit looks to be the 4th well to be drilled on that section.
What doesn't make a lot of sense to me is the initial production of the 1st well was only 94 barrels a day. Not huge.
