Payne County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Martha, two recent posts interested me: JC (12/18N/2E) & Robert Woodruff’s (his MI location wasn’t listed but sounded like they’re close to mine @ 6/18N/4E)…anyway you told JC well data maps showed her MI to be in a good area - I’d like to know how to view the well data maps. As always I appreciate you and all the other contributors, thanks.

Robert, American Energy Woodford filed forced pooling application on 7/14/2015 for Section 6-18N-04E CD # 201503338. Also, there’s new horizontal wells and new and old vertical wells to the north of Sec 30-18n-04E.

Steve, It’s expense, but you can try a free 7 day trial. http://www.welldatabase.com

Steve we gave section 26 18n 3e.

I goofed not gave but have.

Robert, 26-18N-03E is, as the crow flies, only 4 miles from 06-18N-03E. AEP is actively drilling in your area. If they move closer to your section, you may start getting some offers. This is all going to take some time.

Correction 06-18N-04E

WellDataBase may be a good idea for us in a month or so when AEP is further along with forced pooling etc. Thanks for the info & good luck to Robert

Steve, Thank you so much for the very good article that is in line with current US government reporting. Obama has OK’d the sell of oil to Mexico which will start to end the US ban on oil exports. Currently, the US is selling natural gas to Mexico and Mexico just passed a new law where US companies can have joint partnerships with Government controlled oil projects in Mexico. http://fuelfix.com/blog/2015/08/14/obama-administration-oks-oil-exp… Kinder Morgan is running the pipelines to Mexico which will enable the US to sell Mexico more natural gas. http://fuelfix.com/blog/2014/08/01/kinder-morgan-to-expand-pipeline…

The EIA forecasts oil to fall 75,000 next month which should help boost the price. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/08/10/us-oil-shale-rigs-idUSKCN…

We are going to see $100 again, but it’s not going to happen until the shale boys show OPEC that they can produce oil for as long and for less than Saudi Arabia. The Saudi’s just had to start borrowing money, so there are starting to hurt! http://money.cnn.com/2015/08/06/news/economy/saudi-arabia-oil-defic…

Go USA!

For anyone who missed it here’s an interesting article about Greg Garland, CEO of Phillips 66, who has some encouraging, positive comments about the O & G business

Never mind copying/pasting the address, the link works fine.

AEP drilled and completed the Wayne 27-18N-1E on Dec.4,2014. I received my first check last month and got on again this month. My question is why do the gross volume numbers reported by AEP do not match the volumes given by the OK Tax office. In March the tax office reported 4260.79 BBL Oil yet AEP says 0 on my check stub. How does one reconcile what they report and what you receive???

“The Cherokee Platform Province in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri contains estimated recoverable reserves totaling 463 million bbl of crude oil, 11.2 tcf of natural gas, and 35 million bbl of natural gas liquids, the US Geological Survey said in a Sept. 1 report.” Note: Giant fields contain 500 mil bbl oil & more than 3 tcf gas. Super giant fields contain more than 5 billion BOE reserves. http://www.ogj.com/articles/2015/09/usgs-estimates-cherokee-platfor…

Greg, Here’s a link to NARO form letter for requesting royalty info. Mail letter via certified mail with return receipt.

Greg,

I regularly check gross production on the OTC web site (PUN search) vs my check stubs. For oil, I’ve always found AEP and OTC to be very close. Perhaps there were some startup problems but it’s worth an inquiry to AEP. While OTC and AEP both reference a gross production figure for natural gas, it’s not so easy to compare them.

With oil prices staying low, companies are getting worried about the ability to make it through the downturn. They have had to lay off many employees who used to keep the records straight, so watch your royalty payments. I’m receiving lots of reports where companies are making mistakes.

Thank you Martha and GWT.

I found an optimistic opinion from an O&G insider (Harold Hamm of Continental Resources - more recently in the news for his divorce than the industry) but he has some interesting views. I earlier posted a Boone Pickens prediction that crude would hit $70 by year’s end but much like Oklahoma State’s football program (I’m an OSU grad & a big fan) I wouldn’t bet my savings on either one. I just like to spread positive news when I see it.

Steve, The Aussie deal is huge for LNG exports to Asia and Japan. However, it will take some time to build all the LNG facilities and work out the current issues with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. I wouldn’t think it should slow Payne development since US LNG facilities are much further along.

More good news. Morgan Stanley has cut forecasts for Iraqi oil for next 5 years & now expect Iraq to produce less oil than previous forecasts of 500,000 bpd increase. Also, Iraqi Ministry of Oil has reduced development funds for Iraqi oil fields which will help decrease production in 2nd half of 2016.
