Payne County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Martha, interesting read… http://www.slb.com/~/media/Files/resources/oilfield_review/ors98/wi

How can I visually see where my sec/tn/R are in relation to Stillwater? Thanks

Steve, here is a link to a map. http://www.okgenweb.org/twpmaps/payne.html

Steve and Jessica, I have not fully used this Stillwater GIS Map, but did find it will layer zoning. http://stillwater.org/government/city_departments/geographical_info…

Martha, with the new direction that energy company’s are heading with multi lateral wells, do you have an opinion or any data that shows how many lines they will run on an average rig?

Martha and/or others, I am getting bombarded by pipeline companies requesting easements. I recall some time back, I believe Martha, posted a link or attachment to an easement agreement with all the “can’s and cant’s”, “may and may not’s”. If someone could point me to that or offer any advice, I would be very appreciative.

M.D., Dual opposing laterals can develop highly fractured reservoirs where production drawdown is about the same as pressure drawdowns (drops). The Woodford shale is highly fractured, but I do not have sufficient pressure drawdown data to tell you “for sure” opposing dual laterals can be used for our Woodford. Large pressure drawdowns occur when the reservoir is poorly consolidated (like limes) and wells will produce large amounts of sand, so SandRidge is using ‘fork well’ multilaterals with 3 wells (9 laterals) per 640. However, dual opposing laterals have been successfully used in the Austin Chalk (lime) formation in TX. I’m guessing dual opposing laterals and/or fork laterals might work in our area. In the Bakken, companies are drilling 10 dual laterals on 1280’s. All that being stated, in TX ‘stacked laterals’ are being used with 1 lateral into the Woodford and a parallel lateral into the Viola, so if you had 3 Woodford/Viola’s wells with stacked laterals and 1 Miss Lime well with fork laterals, you could have 9 laterals per 640. I welcome everyone’s knowledge on this subject, as it is extremely important! Fracking one well can increase production in surrounding wells. In a fracture-enhanced reservoir, horizontal production can be five times that of a vertical well and multi-laterals can further increase production.

Martha, I didn’t figure out a way to look at my S/Tn/R from the Stillwater.org… link but googled around and found this nice map:

Thanks, Steve

Steve, Thanks for the link. It is hard to get a free map with showing all the layers. Google Maps has this subscription website, but I’m not sure what it costs. http://www.earthpoint.us/Townships.aspx

Joyce, The only way our family was able to get AEP / AEW to record our new deeds and issue the division orders was to ask a family friend in management to help. Our friend contacted the head person in that area, and we had division orders in the mail in a week.

But, I returned the signed orders with signature required to the P.O. Box specified. According to tracking, my envelope has been at the post office for three days now without being picked up. Frustrating. AEP is obviously not efficient and behind.

G Win, Be sure to keep your US postal certified mail receipts to prove you mailed everything the first time. I would write a letter to the attorney, OCC and AEP requesting that they pick up, sign and return your requested certified signature receipts. Reference the certified mail receipt numbers for each one of your letters. Mail each letter by FedEx or UPS and be sure to get the slip with a tracking number for each letter. That way, if they are avoiding royalty payments by not picking up certified mail at the post office, FedEx and UPS delivers to the physical place of business. I hope they all realize it’s a federal offense to tamper with US mail and interfering with US mail is often considered mail tampering.

Feb 2015 oil delivery price is $49, but oil delivery price in Feb 2016 is $56. Storage in Cushing has been bought out and tankers are being paid to float about with full loads. Producers who have bought the front month oil and paid for storage can wait a year, and make $5 (or more) per each 2016 barrel delivered.

Iran and Venezuela push to curb oil production and raise price in 2015.

I will get them in the mail!!

Thank you so very much Martha!!!

Martha, I sent the letters certified with signature required with my pooling choice to AEP, Attorney, and the occ. I sent them Dec. 18th. I haven’t received anything back from the post office. Do I send another?

I hope someone does, that is push the price…

Martha you stated the oil delivery prices for Feb 2015/2016 - did anyone predict in 2014 that the Feb 2015 prices would be so low. Just curious, thanks

America’s first oil boom was in Titusville, PA 1859 with first export of oil from PA to London on January 9, 1862. Oil was $20 per barrel.

From the UK on Jan 8, 2014:

"…the latest US Fed minutes showed discussions on raising rates were heavily caveated, noted Jasper Lawler, market analyst at CMC Markets.
“The market came away with the idea that the Fed hasn’t decided when to move on rates and is happy to stay on hold while the oil-effect on inflation runs its course.”

G. Win: Is AEP sending you monthly checks? 347 B0PD is outstanding… My Section 14 in Payne County is on the docket for increased density…with AEP…Just wondering how they are (AEP) once they start taking oil out of the ground…
