Payne County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Martha, Thank you so much! I’m not sure when we started receiving royalties, but I know the first check was bigger than the following ones because it was for several months. Since the well was drilled in one section and produces from another, do mineral owners in both sections get royalties?

Is there anyway to know is there is Woodford shale in our area? Thanks again!

Martha, Thanks again, I will call the Clerks office next week. I noticed the Phillips well in sec. 27 18N 1E was not on that list if I read it right. How many more wells will they allow in a section with a producing well on it? It is the old Paradise field if I am not mistaken and my family has been getting royalty payments for years from this, not large but they last a long time and those were the old vertical wells. My grandfather was the post master in Coyle for years and I have a copy of the land grant from 1907 to our family on SW/4 sec 7 18N 1E. That is why I agree with everything you say about the value in this area. I hope the people on this site listen to you on the value.

Martha, You’d said, “your section is on 640 unit spacing and section 31 is not a multi section, so you are not sharing.” Can you explain ‘unit spacing’ and ‘multi section.’ Thank you!

Martha, You said re our section - 30 19N 4E - “I don’t know for sure if you are going to get Mississippian and Woodford wells, but your Mississippian is flowing, not being pumped, and that’s good.” What does “flowing, not being pumped” mean? Do they regulate how much is coming through? Thanks so much!

Clark, AEP stands for American Energy Partners, LP. It’s Aubrey McClendon’s new company. He is the ex CEO of Chesapeake. http://americanenergypartners.com/Home/Contact/

Thanks, Martha!

Melinda, Right now, your section is on 640 unit spacing and section 31 is not a multi section, so you are not sharing. There is a well in section 31-19N-04E . It is flowing production at 690 barrels of oil per day and 1274 Mcf gas which is very good. I don’t know for sure if you are going to get Mississippian and Woodford wells, but your Mississippian is flowing, not being pumped, and that’s good. AEP could increase density and drill more Miss wells. You will be notified of the increased density. Be patient, it takes a while to develop huge oil plays. If I owned minerals in your section, I would not sell them. http://dailyreckoning.com/the-mississippi-lime-shale-play-is-heatin…

Martha, will infill drilling be vertical wells and will they be smaller unit spacing?

Greg, I have not researched 17-01E . The river can make a difference, but reports show that the Woodford covers most of Oklahoma. It’s going to take a while to prove out all the sections in OK.

Clark, Section 31-19N-04E Operator # 23358 is American Energy Woodford LLC. which is AEP’s Woodford Wells. I can’t find where Devon is the operator for section 31. You should get a copy of your mineral interest record from the Payne County Clerk’s Office. You might have a royalty interest in 31 that you are not getting paid for.

Melinda, Flowing is natural, pumping is forced, so it’s more expensive. Natural flow is less costly which means longer production, because uneconomical wells will be the first to be abandoned. They do regulate production, but don’t worry about that. It’s normal to regulate production, because it makes the wells perform better for longer.

Also, I was wondering if you think this play will move south to 17N 1E. I do not hear of much going on in this area.

Melinda, It means that the area where the oil and gas is located (reservoir) is an area encompassing more than one section and to place a well in one section without allowing the other section to benefit from comingled production would be unfair. Right now, OCC is allowing combining of two 640s to form a multi section 1280 spacing, but each section still gets its proportionate share according to the location of the reservoir.

“Multiunit horizontal well” means a horizontal well in a

shale reservoir wherein the completion interval of the well is

located in more than one unit formed for the same shale reservoir,

with the well being completed in and producing from such shale

reservoir in two or more of such units;" http://www.oklegislature.gov/cf_pdf/2011-12%20ENR/hb/hb1909%20enr.pdf

Can someone please clarify the data being reported on the Oklahoma Gross Production Tax website? In the column labeled “Gross Volume,” is the figure shown a total for the month, or an average production per day, or some other measurement? Thanks in advance!

Great info. Thank you!

Clark, 31-19N-04E Ist sale of production sale was September 05, 2012. If you have clear title to minerals in section 31, you should have received a division order to sign and return to get paid for your interest. Calyx drilled the well, but AEP bought the well from Calyx and is the operator, so you should be receiving monthly royalty payment checks from AEP. http://imaging.occeweb.com/OG/Well%20Records/1DD0A31E.pdf

Greg, AE application to increase the spacing was approved and they are awaiting an order for it to take effect. The spacing has gone from 320 to 640.

Ron do you have access for a copy of the order for the spacing increase on G.Wins property?

Sorry if this has been asked and answered here previously, but I do not see a way to search the forum within a specific County Group.

What is a fair price per surface acre for seismographic testing? The company has offered $10 per acre. Are they usually negotiable on their first offer? Any caveats as far as the land access contract goes?

Thanks,

Dan

Daniel it is total for month.
