Ann, What’s going on in your area is there may be many more wells drilled because the oil and gas reservoirs cover huge areas involving many townships and ranges. I’m receiving offers for minerals where the OCC has not even released the completion reports and where there are more wells scheduled to be drilled.
I have to agree with Martha. There is a lot more to come!
Thank you all for your information. That’s what I was thinking. I also saw that a well has come in on one area where they drilled in May but I haven’t received any royalties. Do you know how long it takes to get paid on a well that’s operating? I appreciate all your help
Does anyone know if section 4 19n 01w has pooled. I received the application but have not received anything further. The order is not on the OCC. 201405258 is the cause number. I’m worried I missed the date… Sure hope not!
Jennifer the pooling was for the north half of section 4 and was recommened 8/19/20 but no order out yet.
Ann, they have 6 months from the date of first production sale which is usually on the well’s completion report. The completion reports are posted on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission website. Some mineral owners are reporting late payments, but according to OK statutory law you can claim 12% interest on payments made after the 6 month period if you have marketable title (no defects) proving you own your minerals and 6% on late payments if title defect(s) are legally corrected.
Optima Exploration, LLC drilled a well on my property (Sec 14 19N 03E) in April 2011. They told me that it was a dry hole and were going to plug it. They have yet to remove the well head (or the pipe and valves) that are sticking up out of the ground, plug it, and do the land reclamation. I’ve contacted them by email in the past but now my emails are returned by the mail daemon. What do I do now? Thanks!
Bob, You can register an abandoned well site with the OERB. Below is the registration form, but you may have to be the surface owner to do so, so you might call first 1-800-664-1301

Any new news on Sec 21 18n 1w? Was there about a month ago & the pumps were there. Haven’t ever heard if they are pumping now or not. Thanks
Thanks Martha, I am the surface owner. I thought about OERB but I didn’t know if I should start with them or with the Corporation Commission. I will go ahead and try the OERB. I know that they are very good to work with.
Could find no production information .
Sandra, I think Ron would agree that they use cement in the drilling and completion process and the report of cement plug on the completion report is good news and you should get production. Here’s a youtube horizontal drilling video that may help you.

The permit to drill was approved by the OCC on the 26th of August. It said that the company had till January 22 till the permit expires. When should I expect a lease offer or forced pooling offer??
Does anyone know if there is any pumping going on in Sec 28, T20N R2E
Well was completed in May.
Thanks Ron-I read the report but I don’t understand it. Does it mean they ran a test on May 30th, filed a report on Aug 1st and nothing has happened since then. It also refers to a cement plug does that mean they plugged the well. Sorry I am not more knowledgeable in what happens when a well is drilled. I truly appreciate your efforts in pointing me in the right direction.
O/G companies are now using the terminology “Springer”, but it’s also known as Mississippian-Springer. Woodford Shale (black shale) was deposited in Anadarko Basin, then the Mississippian-Springer. Payne Co is on the shelf of the Anadarko Basin.

Thank you Ron. We were there here while back & they have the stuff in place. Just wasn’t pumping anything. Thanks again
G. Win Most of the time they have the leasing and pooling done when they get the permit. Where is it ?
G Win, American Energy (AEP) probably acquired the lease development from Calyx, so if you can’t get an offer from a third party who wants to lease your minerals you may have to talk to the landman from AEP again or wait until the pooling order. There are some companies in Payne Co drilling before the OCC forced pooling.
