Phillip, Thank you so much and great research work! This is why OCC told me there was going to be a “rule hearing on 1280 A spacing in 2014.” OCC and NARO said CLR is pushing for zero size/no units which would be made possible by “allowing producers to cross existing spacing units.” Is there anything mineral owners can do?
This link is not operable.
An interesting article on possible unit spacing discussions during the upcoming legislative session.
I am told by my landman that Calyx has completed a horizontal well to include Section 01-17N-04E and the adjoining portion of Section 36-18N-4E and am wondering how long it takes to determine production amounts if any? Also I have received an offer from Sooner LLC to buy my mineral rights for $2350 per acre and wonder if this is a good price?
Phillip, I just read an article on the Bakken where they are allowing overlapping 2560 A spacings, because the setbacks on 1280 A caused gaps between the sections and even though they started allowing drilling between the sections Bakken oil was still being missed. So, the overlapping 2560-acre spacing units allows an operator to site a well/a horizontal lateral in such a location to access the Bakken Pool along spacing unit lines/section lines. Goodness me…
Not sure whether combining sections would help or hurt. Guess it would depend on how much payments would be reduced by having more owners involved and what production you are part of vs what you would have without increasing unit size. In short beats me, I just get nervous when oil companies get legislation in their favor.
Phillip,
I read this article and I see the same discussion going on in other groups also. I am still new in all this things. I would like to know what kind of benefits mineral owners will get? Thank you.
Is there any way I can find out how wells that have been completed around us are producing? Our interest is in 06-18N-1W. They are fracking the well now. They drilled four from the one pad, so I guess they frack them one right after the other. I know one well close to us was the RM pad as Devon calls it. And I know the Ringer pads are a little west of us. Just curious to see what production within the area is like. We had an offer to buy our minerals for 3200 per acre. But we roll the dice and gamble and see what happens with the wells.

Teri here are some wells around you.
I have an interest in 2 of the wells in Section 6, Township 18N, Range 1W. I just talked with a land owner there and he said that all four wells have been fracked and they are starting to set production equipment.
Larry,
I wonder when we will know about production amounts? The anticipation is killing me. LOL!
Ron,
Thanks so much for all the information. Do you know anything about a well called the RM? It is right next to the Ringer wells.
Anyone know of any drilling near Section 21 Township 18N Range 1W? Thanks.
You got it. My wells were drilled from the pad in Section 6, 18N, 1W also. My well heads are physically located on this section. I have a well that goes to Logan Section 36, 19N, 2W and a well that goes to Payne Section 31, 19N, 1W where my mineral interests are. Devon physically drilled all four wells from one pad on Section 6, 18N, 1W to cut costs on building four separate pads. My mother’s parents Ella and Elbert Potter and their parents owned the 320 acres in my 160 acre sections until the early 1950s when they sold to the Stinchcombs. My great grandparents homesteaded the property in the Great Oklahoma land rush. My mother Mary Maxine Potter, daughter of Ella and Elbert knows who the Hudsons are. I am one of Maxine’s sons. She divided her mineral interest between my brother and me 30 years ago. I am retired and live in Nampa, Idaho. I assume that Devon is paying the Hudsons for the use of the property for the pad.
Teri, it is killing me also. Just a waiting game now for a couple of months. Hopefully we will have some decent production.
Clark, the well in Section 31, Township 19N, Range 1W was spudded on 11/21/13 and has been drilled and I think completed. According to a landowner, they have started to set the production equipment and tie into a gathering line. The actual physical location of the wellhead is on Section 6, Township 18N, Range 1W. There are 3 other wells that were drilled from Section 6, Township 18N, Range 1W. Will have to wait a few more months before we know what the production is. Devon will be sending all mineral interest holders a packet of paperwork in the next several months.
All I can say is WOW. My family owns a small bit of minerals in Township 7-18N-3E. Is there a place to see the daily or weekly or monthly production for this well?

Payne: Devon Energy Production Co. LP; Jardot 6-7-18N No. 1WHX Well; NE1/4 NE1/4 NW1/4 NW1/4 (BHL) of 07-18N-03E; 1,579 barrels oil per day, 1,971,000 cu-ft gas per day; TD 14,789.
Clark, They have completed and fraced the well and are waiting on the production tests to conclude on Section 31, Township 19 North, Range 1 West.
Ron McKenzie, Could you please tell me what the Peach 1-20 in Section 19-19N-01W is currently producing. Thank you
Ron, Thank you.
Thank you Ron, I appreciate the quick reply and all the good info you post on here.
