Payne 9-18N-2E question

I've got mineral acres in Payne Sec 9 TS 18N 2E. Have seen lots of activity in Payne County Land records over last month for that area in Mineral Deeds and Oil Lease categories. Anyone know of any new activity in or around there? Thanks for any news since I'm in Texas.

Jimmy, AEP has drilled and completed wells in 18N-01E and is buying and leasing mineral in 18N-02E for their drilling expansion program which covers a huge area in North Central OK.

Thanks Martha

If you own some acres in an area that AEP is interested in, do you (a) contact them to let them know you're interested in leasing or (b) wait for them to contact you?

Jimmy, Usually, AEP contacts you. I heard they are in PA right now, but should be back to OK before their leases expire. Right now, there's a boom in North American unconventional shale drilling. http://www.ogj.com/unconventional-resources/north-america-shale.html

Thanks Martha Hopefully someday I'll open my mailbox and there will be an offer from AEP. Till then, I'll keep my day job :) Jimmy
