What does it mean “paid up lease until Royalties” any help is appreciated , Thanks
Many leases have the words “Paid-Up Lease” at the top. It stems from the “old” days when many leases were for a certain term, usually three years, and they would pay a rental every year. Got to be a huge hassle with folks moving, etc. So most lease now pay the bonus for the whole term up front. This is not legal advice, just general historical information.
If you are new to leasing, it would be wise to get a good oil and gas attorney to help you up front. Most draft leases from an agent are not in the mineral owners favor and need significant edits. A small investment in good legal advice up front can result in additional royalties down the road.
Thank you great forum the info is great
