Owner of Mineral Rights in active location

I have 43 Mineral acres at T-141 R-93 in N.D area and there is drilling being done all around me. I haven’t had anyone contact me about leasing options. Is there anyone in the same situation as me?

Have you moved since registering your deed with the county? Maybe they don’t know where to look for you, although my experience is that there are many landmen with incredible detective skills.

If you tell me what section your minerals are located I can find out how far you are from a producing well. I found a well in T-142 R-94 that had an initial production of 28 BOPD and an inactive well in T-142 R-92 that had no initial production reported. Both of these wells were wildcat wells. It looks like you are on the southeastern edge of the bakken formation.

You can contact a landman to see if there is leasing activity. If you live in the area, check with neighbors to find out what the going rates are. Existing leases will be registered an the county courthouse.

Thank you for responding. The discription reads T141N R93 W 5th PM Section 14 NW 1/4, NE 1/4, SW 1/4, NE 1/4, N 1/2, SW 1/4 & Section 15 NW 1/4, S 1/2

I don’t live in North Dakota so it’s difficult to really know whats going on in the area. Thank you so much for your input.

I made all the changes with the Dunn County court records several years ago. The information has not changed. I believe if a landman was to look up the description on the mineral rights I own, I’m sure they would have the most current information to contact me. But again, I’m not real sure how the process works when landmen do their research in finding possible prospects. Thank you for your information.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your tract lays in the Southeasterly part of the Bakken play where production rates have been too low to make it feasible to warrant the cost of drilling. Some of Trackers wells scared everyone away from the area. Other formations such as the Tyler, Dakota, Deadwood, Birdbear formations have already been drilled and came up dry. But do contact and try to lease to companies as you have nothing to loose.

Well thanks for the heads up on the situation. When you speak of trackers wells, that is the oil company Tracker Resources right? Can you tell me how far away are the other formations T & R from this location?

Keli, I do hope someone steps in and leases your minerals, I just wanted you to be aware of the situation with where yours are. Yes, I meant Tracker Resources, they held a lot of leases in the Southeastern part of Dunn, they have a dry hole drilled into the Bakken formation just Northeast of yours. There are some decent wells West of yours but there are a lot of miles between. I am not certain as to what you meant by your question but if you look at the NDIC gis map you can see the dry holes all around your tract that I mentioned. If you see a well and would like the production information or formation one was drilled into let me know the well number and I’ll get it for you. https://www.dmr.nd.gov/OaGIMS/viewer.htm

Tim thanks again for the information. I’ll be sure to look at the link you sent.
