I have seen other discussions on this topic but no clear answer.
In Carter County, Ok, Continental has received approval from the Corporation Commission to drill multiple multiunit horizontal wells. Just guessing but probably 20 or so in various sections including, Section 1, 2, 11, 12, 35 and 36. Some of these are not currently leased to Continental. I have not received any notice regarding forced pooling, so just wondering how they could start drilling before a lease is signed.
It is more helpful if you give the township and range along with the sections. Continental has a very aggressive drilling program in multiple townships in Carter. Are you looking at 1S-3W or another township?
It is common to have the OCC rule on the case for horizontal drilling first. Then the pooling case is next. Continental has many partners in their wells. The leases can be shared amongst them. Many of the sections are already held by production, so do not need to be leased again unless they are open at the reservoir Continental is interested in.
