We have room for a few more people! OK NARO chapter is hosting a townhall next Tuesday night, the 29th. You do not have to be a NARO member to attend. We will be hosting a networking event at the Elk City Country Club to discuss the horizontal drilling activity in the Red Fork/Cherokee reservoirs in Custer, Ellis and Roger Mills Counties. Sign up by April 25 so we can get a headcount for dinner. If you don’t need dinner, then come anyway! Or if you see this late, we ordered a few extra dinners!
Hi, I live in Wisconsin, have Mineral Rights in Roger Mills County and recently signed with Mewbourne in section 26 13N 24W for drilling in the Cherokee. Is there anyway I can listen in on the Town Hall from afar or get more information on what is discussed?
We can send out a summary after the town hall. Remind me in about a week.
I just now saw this post about a town hall meeting in Elk City. I have mineral rights in sections 5 & 8, township 13 north, range 20 west in Custer County, and section 1, township 13 north, range 21 west, Roger Mills County. I’m trying to learn more about being a mineral rights owner and have recently signed a couple of leases. Would it be worth the drive from Oklahoma City for me to attend this town hall meeting? I would be willing to make the drive if I can learn and understand what’s going on in that area if it has to do with the mineral rights that I own.
Welcome to the forum!
NARO is the National Association of Royalty Owners. We have an OK Chapter that is constantly trying to educate and advocate for mineral owners.
I think you would find the townhall useful. There is active leasing all over 13N-20W. A rig is onsite and drilling the Cotinga horiontal well in 23 & 14 of 13N-21W. Devon has several other wells already permitted. Another rig is running in 14N-21W, just a couple of miles from your acreage.
I will be on the road with you coming from OKC. I will be giving an overview of the area, what the companies are drilling, what to expect as far as timing, what to do with a division order once you get it, etc. We will have a light dinner and a presentation and then I will take questions. You can network with other mineral owners from the area. 5:30-7:30pm at the Elk City Country club. Sign up on the NARO website so we can get a headcount for the dinner.
I am going to try to come from OKC but would very much like a summary also because I have gotten information from both Devon and Mewbourne filing notices with the corporation commission concerning permission to both increase existing wells as well as drilling new ones. I am new at this and need information to help me understand what best to do to manage my mineral interests in Roger Mills, Custer and Caddo counties. Thank you for sharing this information!
Thank you so much. I went ahead and signed up to be at the town hall. I look forward to it!
