Kudos to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for having rules (Title 165) that require royalty payments to be made in a form acceptable to the payee. Texas should do the same.

I just asked about an educational event and then saw this. Will be in Tyler for a reunion that weekend - so disappointing. More of these coming for 2027?
We held one in Houston in February. Hoping to do another one in Austin eventually. I went to the TX NARO convention and answered questions there insread. Will have a booth at the National Convention in Frisco in November. Might do another library event if there is enough interest while I am in town.
I don’t own any minerals in Texas, but live somewhat close to Frisco. I’ll remind myself to keep checking for a library event. Would information presented at National conference be as beneficial for Oklahoma owner or would you recommend waiting until next OK conference? Thanks so Much.
I learn something at every convention even if it is not directly for my state. The National convention covers every region. Directors from all the chapters usually come so you can meet lots of them, chat with vendors, get caught up on the latest and greatest info from really good speakers, etc.
I ask because we have a company that charges us a $10 check fee every payment because we choose not to go to direct deposit (for minerals in Texas). I’ve asked NARO for years for clarification or help with that issue with no response, unfortunately.
OK has a statute that handles the situation. TX NARO has been working on the issue. I will pass the comment along to the TX chapter president that it is still a problem.
