Oil Well Located 1 Mile South of Dime Box on Bobby Gold Property

I am interested in learning any information concerning the well being completed on the Bobby Gold property. I understand it is a horizontal well and would like to know how many acres is included in the drilling permit and who the mineral rights owners are for the well production.

It would help if we knew what state and county you are referring to and also the legal description of the property. Also possibly the name of the well or the API # or the status #. Please give us a little more to work with.

The well is in Lee County, Texas. Not sure what the name of the well is, but it is located on property owned by Bobby Gold and is located about a mile west of Dime Box, Texas. The well was drilled by Clayton Williams and should be nearing production very soon, if not already producing. My property is only a half mile from this well location. I have a producing well on my property, called Marburger #1 and my API number is 42-287-32552.

I have attached a map that shows the general area I am talking about. The Bobby Gold well is located on CR 434 just up the road on the north side where the road makes a 90 degree turn to the right.

I'm pretty sure the well is named the Gold 107----API # 287-32630

Click on the P-12 at the bottom of the page and it will state Bob Gold as mineral owner in this well.

You have identified the well I am talking about. I was curious what kind of horizontal drilling was associated with this one. Looks like it is all on the Bobby Gold property.. Thanks for your assistance.

Maybe this will make sense to you. No completion report has been filed for that Clayton Williams well called the Gold 107 that Clint sent you the link to but in April Williams started filing production on a well called the Gold South unit. For Feb. 2014 they show 132 Bbl/1994 MCF and 161 Bbl/2278 MCF for March. If you want to see it check Pending under RRC Identifier number 727696.

The strange part is RRC doesn't shown a drilling permit or completion report for a Gold South Unit, so I'm wondering if that's the same well Williams permitted as the Gold 107?

You mentioned that Gold 107 was all on Bobby Gold's property. If you look at the plat that's at the bottom of that permit Clint sent you the link to it shows the drill site was on the Gold tract, about 1/2 mile north of the Marburger well you mentioned, but the horizontal leg went 6600' toward the northwest and bottomed 350' off County Road 428 on an 80 acre tract it shows owned by John Wolff.

Thanks for this additional information. Seems like there is still a little confusion whether there is one well with production split between two properties because of the horizontal drilling.

I wanted to be sure that the horizontal drilling was confined to the land shown in the permit. Can't help but wonder if there is more potential for drilling deeper on the property where my well is located. That well was drilled to 4800 feet for production. Clayton Williams renewed his lease on my property just last year so can always speculate he had good reason to do so.
