Oil price per barrel

What is a good site to find the oil price per gallon that the oil companies use to figure the revenue checks? I have been looking on a site called SemCrude Daily Price bulletin. The figure on that site is always around $10 a barrel less than what the oil company pays.

Thanks for any info.

Dear Ms. Simmons,

That site publishes the definitive bulletin. A couple of things come to mind. First, are you looking at the proper grade of oil, and second, are you making the proper gravity and impurities adjustments? Not likely since the gravity is not reported on the royalty check.

What you might want to consider (other than sending flowers to your operator for getting such a good price) is to key your "looking" to a grade or class on the semcrude site that closely approximates what you are receiving.
